Shock horror!
I have been informed that from this weekend onwards no after match meal will be provided free to home players, only to visitors. I believe you can buy a meal for £2 however.
I guess this is consistent with most other clubs at our level and players have been lucky to have had this perk for the last few years.
If you wish to moan about this, don't do it to me!

You can moan to me though as i will be in a meeting on Thursday with the Brain as players reps. Already got my ear chewed a bit at the weekend (not from playing, though!) so any comments welcome.

As H. Roberts esq. seems to have departed, presumably the food consumption will fall to levels that the club can afford. Problem solved

Now my banjo playing friend there's an idea ....... get your spit roaster down to the club at 5pm saturdays cos the lads want feeding but your cullinary delights must be AT TRUE COST not cost + 500 f@&kin' percent!!
....mind you would you feel confortable letting this guy handle your food? on second thoughts I'll just get have to get mugged or go hungry!

On a serious note, is the food provision down to the club, or Concept XV (who run Haslams, for you uninitiated types...). I have to say that, in my experience, charging home players for food is fairly widespread - Haslams is run as a business for profit after all - they just have to make the judgement call whether free food=more takings behind the bar. Sorry to get all serious on your ass, but that's the way it is - HURGH!

Hi Arch I'm with you on this one, and £2 isn't a lot. And before anybody says, "where do the match fees go" they go to providing your showers 3 times a week (if you choose to train, if you don't, tough ) floodlights (also at training), Food for the opposition, cleaning of dirty kit, buying the opposition a jug ( don't worry Robin, the secrets safe ), Insurance, pitch maintenance (grass cutting, marking out), Balls, flags training kit etc.
So stop whining and get on with it.

I have had to roll away the stone on this and resurrect myself on the forum just to pass comment on this immotive subject.Norm/Arch/Colin Totally Correct! (Norm you forgot to mention the Referees)We have been fortunate and had it too good for too long. It looks like the Commercial axe has been swung. Although maybe it could have been swung with more notice?

Mr Glover I totally agree with you also mate (you are a lump...SORRY "Big Guy") but as from last Sat that'll be £2! so bring your money box, a picnic box or be prepared to become a smaller guy.

Don't have a problem with paying but the Colts weren't happy on Sunday to find there was no food left for them even though they all had the necessary £2. To be fair some extra was cooked but that's hardly the point.....
yum yum

Interesting observation. So who ate it all? Dont say the u8s! I believe (and I will get confirmation from a food decision maker as not 100% on this) that any food is limited and on a first come first served basis similar to training nights. Food for thought? Yes the lack of food for the Colts sounds very unfortunate growing lads that they are (eh Glover?) but dare I say that after a performance like that on Sun, I offer that they got their just dessert?
I dont do tex mex either!

yeah i get the point it will cost me £2 every week to keep my fine figure. Good points made by norm, Ze greman and macca i accept that it costs alot on match days and that is why we pay £2 match fees i just thought it was a good time to have a moan at something. If we are now paying for the food do players get a say in what is cooked?
If in doubt..... give it the forwards. BOSH!! |

Nice Point Mr G. I think you should put your suggestion about players selecting the menu and all of your moans to your ear bitten players rep 'The Jackal'- If fact why not go one further!!why not let players cook the meal thus reducing overheads and making the selling price that bit cheaper! Glover you are a f**@@@g genius.
