It's not perfect, but if you need a tabular layout you can try enclosing the text in [ code ] tags which uses a true monospaced layout.

E.g.
+-----+-----+-----+
| 1 | 2 | 3 |
+-----+-----+-----+

Right, that does sound nasty. Well worth knowing. Must try to remember that for the future. Thanks.

After looking at the forum code, it does do most of what you might do using HTML, the only thing I think would be useful would be a table option. We use FCKeditor for our pages where the user needs to add more than just a basic line of text. But it too has its flaws. So the options on this forum is probably best.

Thanks again,

Quote from the recommendation settings for the Forum ....By allowing HTML you are opening up a whole big can of worms. You may wish to allow HTML in a controlled INTRANET environment, though. It is not recommended to be used on the INTERNET as anyone can post anything without your being able to screen it. JavaScript that messes up your pages, etc...

Okay, if it's all right, could you tell me what problems? Just interested, not trying to push anything.

Reading the Forum recommendations for what settings to enable / disable there is a comment that suggests not having the html option enabled as it can cause problems, hence it's not enabled.
