Posted - 06 June 2008 : 12:26:24 get rid of scrums completely, they only slow the game up and while they're at it, lets make it 7 a side |

Posted - 07 May 2008 : 10:02:16 If they wanted everyone to play rugby league why didn't they say!?!?!
These law changes will only help the southern hemisphere especially the Aussies with their lack of forward presence.

The 'rules' to take away some of the reasons for penalties and replacing with free kicks aren't brilliant either. Most of the rules just seem to be tightening up and not allowing for interpretation though.
Not overly impressed!!!!

Posted - 06 May 2008 : 13:42:54 That's actually a pretty sh*t report - I've done the RFU questionnaire which explain the changes more clearly, and allow you to express an opinion on their effects. For example - it's not simply "No restriction on the number of players who can participate in the lineout from either side (minimum of two)." - it's that the attacking team no longer sets the maximum, i.e. if you run a two-man line, they can defend with any number (I assume the 1m apart and between 5m & 15m still applies.) If you're a forward, get to the website and find the link - I can't pass on mine as it was a direct mail and you'll get a message saying you've done it already! - a number of the variations are about removing scrums. Bad RFU!
