Posted - 05 December 2006 : 23:57:34 There is a need for better and more directions to the clubs the all the teams are playing.
I would there like to suggest that google maps api is used to show the directions to the major clubs that most teams play.
For less visited/distant clubs, I would suggest that the current approach would suffice but with some help from the club to find the post codes so that team members can search for themselves if needed.
I know the approach is possible and would make the site more helpful to the players.

Posted - 23 January 2007 : 09:41:17 Yes Yes I'll tel you what those old Wildbeats dont need any directions, they just have to follow the smoke trail left by that old postie head Roger Falconer as his motor (recently serviced at Johns Garage) chugs along leaving a trail of smoke and carbon with the strain of hauling the Mighty Beats Beer Chest. Posted - 19 January 2007 : 08:39:35 Hey Barney, this guy is putting links ono the rockby club rocksite.. wonder if he'll put some links to the nearest brontoburger outlets, and some of those dodgy rocksites that you look at, you know, the ones with the scantily clad ladies dressed in mammoth fur negligees

http://www.rfu.com/microsites/handbooks/index.cfm?fuseaction=handbook.Clubs&grou_id=36
...but surely that's another site where people have to link to and then click on the given club website address and then look for the club directions
As mentioned in an earlier post the Fixtures directions page is now being updated to include Club Directions, Address/Post Code and Tel number for ALL Senior sides that Derby sides play away to which will hopefully satisfy the majority of people that use said page |

...the thought did cross my mind however upon reflection I can see that it would be a lot easier for 15+ players and supporters etc to just look in one place for directions, address and tel number rather than having to individually go and view another website to find out said info so being the good guy that I am I'm here to help out !

- nerve gas - you don't need any directions as everyone else makes sure that you get home ok !!! - crikey I can still remember ringing Bob from the taxi that night trying to find out where you lived

http://www.rfu.com/microsites/handbooks/index.cfm?fuseaction=handbook.Clubs&grou_id=36
Its the Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire RFU (CB) - Section 1 of the Handbook. Should help to find teams in the area.

Posted - 18 January 2007 : 15:47:59 Webmaster perhaps we could have directions to Haslams, as I am not sure how to find it. Also have trouble in finding my front door some days, so any chance of a map of my house so that I can find my way around a bit easier. If it isn't too much trouble.....anyone know how to open a tube of toothpaste??

Posted - 18 January 2007 : 09:53:17 These people who need spoon feeding information should be upgraded to the next level. I assume they can find their own way to the pub, friends houses etc, even if they have never been there before. Once upgraded they can use their superior intelligence to click on a link to the opponents website and find the info for themselves.. Maybe eventually after further upgrades they could google search their opponents website themselves and find the info out

Posted - 17 January 2007 : 22:56:29 I've recently started adding Fixture Directions for any Away side that a Derby RFC Senior side is playing for that week (assuming that the Club has directions on a website)- eg for example see recent updates for Dudley Kingswinsford, Lichfield, Aylestone Athletic etc so that the page itself is now useful to 1st XV, 2nd XV, 4th XV, Vets XV and Colts XV players and supporters
From now on I will also start to include the address and telephone number of the club, again assuming that a club display this info on their website. |

Posted - 17 January 2007 : 15:46:02 I think the directions are good, however like most things they could be improved. The addition of addresses & postcodes would help those of us who know how to use SatNav get there ;) Phone numbers might be helpful - a scrap of paper with the number of your destination is a boon at 9:55 Sunday morning when you can't quite work out how to get that last 1/2 mile traversed accurately ... |

Posted - 13 December 2006 : 08:41:23 How about next years tour being California? No one would get lost, and we could "have a gay old time". (Which would be different for most tourists, and TF and the Mongoose Slayer would fit in quite well) |

Posted - 12 December 2006 : 20:17:42 I think that the Website should have sections on how to dress yourself, how to feed yourself etc. as these are prity hard to work out for yourself.
