Game is on this week. 11.45 meet - don't be late. Dress code is casual, but bring your new tee shirts and tops for warming up in. And if you have not paid me you subs get (only a couple of you), do so on Saturday or else!

Ok Mr. Tizard, I will gracefully accept your challenge. Expect to be seeing a player's perspective match report appearing on the forum shortly, describing all the information that one wishes to know in all it's glory. Bias may play a role as will a slight degree of exaggeration about what actually happened... Such as when a certain Mr. James took on the whole Bromsgrove team to score from his own 22 and duly convert it himself...

If Dickie is going to wax lyrically next week then I better order a few more disk drives to cope with the humungous amount of words that he's likely to write
oldcorn Posted - 05 December 2005 : 23:30:02
Hey if I wrote a match report that described things perfectly I would not spark intelligent debate on the forum! Mind you, there's only Dickie who seems capable of intelligent debate amongst the U19s. Perhaps my description was a little underwhelming. Next week a thread titled "Dickie's Alternative Match Report" will be set up for you...

P.S. Never finish a sentence with 'of'

Hey Dickie, just a thought but seeing as how you are such a genius with the written word: Shakespeare, Milton, Dickens and James. What a band of English literary talent......Why don't you do the match reports??? I retired from the fourth estate last year but I know the current editor is looking for a cub reporter, what about it

I'm glad someone agrees that I am the raw and beautfiul talent that that try was just a snippet of. I'm sure that Mr.Harrison will not only want an interview, but a permanent weekly column with my views on the sport. As for the internation rugby news, i consider myself above them
norm Posted - 05 December 2005 : 20:06:45
The man you need from the DET is Phil Harrison, 01332 291111, I'm sure seeing your try described like that, it is worthy of a feature spread in a glossy magazine!
Try international Rugby news, they run some great features in there, with some amazing pictures of some fantastic players, especially in the December 2005 edition........

Perhaps an interview with the DET trying to get to grips with my tactical genius would be in order?

Dickie Posted - 05 December 2005 : 19:44:38
On a slight tangent to the subject of debate, I'd just like to congratulate myself on that truly inspirational try scored during the game. A piece of class football, awesome running line and a perfect dive, beating both the full back and some other fool who thought he could stop me.

And yet this is all Mr. Cornfield made of it:

"...and eventually Derby scored after a good old fashioned ‘foot rush’ from 2nd row Dickie James and a dive to score, converted by Dan Brittan."

I would've added such descriptors as: heart-stopping, wonderful, unbelievable, enviable, skillful, best-ever, precise and awesome

... and he pays lots of money into the fines fund for all his misdemeanours! (You should have seen the panic on his face when he realised it was missing! - shouldn't take the mick really... well maybe we should.)

Oh and when you leave for the game remind Tiz not to forget his wallet!!!
