Posted - 24 August 2006 : 15:31:44 If any one finds a green smelly thing in their kit bag it may be a mouldy jock-strap. However it may be one of the famous evapourating green shirts that went missing after the Cup final. If it is the latter, could you please return them to the club, as we need a second strip for the coming season. (If you don't we shall find you out by setting D.I. Arch on you, and tracking you down when you try and sell them on e-bay) |

Posted - 29 August 2006 : 11:00:26 Millsy! Welcome back old bean! (Yes there can be lightening bolts if you want...) To clarify, the idea was to get some businesses to sponsor the NCA League champion Beests so that the Beests (subject to selection to please Mr Oldcorn) actually look like a proper team from a club with ambition. There has been some deliberate misunderstanding of the motives behind this - it is not an attempt to ringfence selection in the Beests or add some sort of 'protectionism'. I appreciate that the club as a business may not have the cashflow to put down the capital for new 1st and 2nd (and 3rd, 4th, Colts, Vets etc...) team kits, so I was just trying to be helpful to circumvent this stumbling block, especially as current sponsors like Norwest Holst, DET and UKD (to name a few) want maximum exposure for their brand and thus understandably want to feature on 1st XV shirts as the flagship team for the club. Therefore, cutting out the bullpoop and getting back to the point in hand - Mr Oldcorn has a valid point that the funding cannot really come from within the playing base for obvious reasons. If this is an idea that people can buy into, is there anyone who would consider sponsoring new Beest shirts? The first £50 is on the table....
Right rant over - love you all Arch x

Posted - 29 August 2006 : 10:49:43 I'm in for new stash, can we have lightening bolts on the front? |

Posted - 29 August 2006 : 08:47:55 Fair point Mr Oldcorn, but that's your lookout!
P.S. Pay your club subs!

Posted - 28 August 2006 : 23:09:30 Boring, boring, boring.... but, I hope all prepared to stump up funds for stash (that they may only wear a few times dependent on selection) are equally prepared to pay the £60 annual subsription that the club desparately needs before!!! (as well as return the old faithful green'uns). |

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 13:45:03 No! If this turns into a 'cash-for-playing' scandal, then I'm off!
P.S. It does, however, give me advertising space on the shirts...

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 13:14:56 Does this mean Archer is guaranteed a spot in the line up for his £50? |

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 13:13:27 That's more like it boys - if only all the teams were as caring about looking good as the 4ths are!
Samurai prices were very good from all the ones I looked at - I am sure Martyn Murney will give you the details |

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 11:49:43 Right, let's kick this off then. To save the club some money, and to give the Beests some playing stash they can be proud of, I suggest a sponsorship/fund-raising drive. I've submitted a request within my company (HBoS) for funds - also, I will personally submit £50 for the kit (only c.£5-600 to go!) - any more takers?

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 11:31:33 Do you wear it behind locked doors, in your bedroom perhaps, whilst looking at photos of .............
MORE IMPORTANTLY....I agree with Halifaxbeeeeeeeest, if the miserable slimey 6th team can get sponsored kit from McDonalds (Do they make Burger Master or whatever???), then the MIGHTY BEEEESTS, with press coverage - several pictures in the Derby telegraph last year- should be able to get sponsored.
Any ideas are welcome. |

Posted - 25 August 2006 : 09:37:52 Couldn't agree more Mr Oldcorn, and few people's blood run beestier. However, seeing as I have a shirt in my possession, technically I can wear it whenever I like.

Posted - 24 August 2006 : 23:31:11 Of course you have to get picked to play for the Beests to wear the shirt . |

Posted - 24 August 2006 : 20:27:02 DI Arch (ex-Cap'n Smash, nka The Human Wrecking Machine) here - shut it you slags!
I have to admit that I am in possession of one of the aforementioned green shirts, so you can cross that one off anyway... By my reckoning (and I'm willing to do all the work on this...) a new set of Beest playing shirts will be c.£500. Anyone want in on sponsorship? I posted this idea a bit ago on the board, and people were quite receptive - anybody any ideas?
P.S. This is NOT an attempt to be divisive - I just want nice stash, and if I have to pay for it, god damn it I'll pay for it!!
