I hope this will get all of you using forum, read this and pass it on to anyone you know.

After training on Thursday Paul McCartin sent Colin and I the follwing e-mail. I've not edited it!!!

I was really impressed with how the colts forwards got to grips with the lineouts last night. They went from nowhere to beating the seconds in the space of 45 mins [ you could put it down to expert coaching I supose :) ]

The transformation was great to see from Sunday's poor (politely put) lineout to last night just proves they are capable of doing big things. They just need to stick at it and practice for 15 mins each and every training session which I am more than happy to help with. They do though need to learn what call to use where !!! and timing on the jumpers coming into the line otherwise they might give a penalty or two away!

They now have the basic first team lineout calls there are more they need to learn to give options but I kept it straightforward for now.

If you/they could come up with a TUESDAY night date relatively soon that ALL the forwards can attend I will go through all the lineouts again and work on completing all of the options they can also have a go against the first team to finish the session (last only 1 hour) I spoke to Mark and if they are prepared to do this he will then look for another tuesday date to suit and take them with him exclusively for a full session.

it was really good to see - as I said I was really impressed.

Paul

Similar opportunities will happen for the backs. We've beaten Doncaster and can only get better.

... and another good performance in the line-out today I understand - well done for that. Shame the ref felt compelled to deny us the opportunity to come back in the match with what seems to be a strange abandonment with no previous serious discipline problems.

Let's make sure we continue to get the good attendance at training that can only further improve our performances.

I believe we will benefit from a match report from the supremely articulate Dickie this week - can't wait!! Others, of course, are welcome to comment on the forum - come on, you can do it!!
