Is it true that he's signed for Galaxy because Los Angeles is about the only city in the world that his kids won't have the p@ss taken out of their names!!!
Imagine if he'd signed for Middlesborough!!!

Like any youth and/or generally ignorant of how business works UK public, someone's not really looked into his T&C's - his contract is heavily bonus-based. He'll only max his £500k a week offer if LA Galaxy win the league, sell out on season tickets every year for 5, sell out 100% of home games and achieve a certain share of market with LA Galaxy merchandise. Also, he's likely to have a sizeable part of this cash bonused against achieving all of this (i.e. if he only achieves 3 out of 4 goals, he won't get the final bonus). Therefore, his likely salary from football is likely to be a lot, lot lower - more in line with the top European earners. Still impressive, but not the cash bonanza it at first seems. Good bit of business for the Galaxy as well, I'd say...
