Anyone know what time teams are going to start turning up?
I have just searched for "Lexus Tournament" on Google and get directed to our website, which has hardly any info at all on it about the tournament: any chance of some?

Sadam - Is there other information that you require as well as what time teams are turning up ? Let me know and I'll look to get the information and if it helps I'll put a separate webpage together detailing the info. I would have thought that communication would have been taking place through each age groups coach.

I think that there's been various briefings by the Lexus event organisers which have gone out to all of the Clubs taking part.

The following info is what I currently have on the website on the Minis & Juniors News page as well as on the Club News page...........

26th Aug'06 - Help required !!! - as most people are no doubt aware Derby RFC are hosting the regional Lexus tournament for the North West / Midlands (see Club News entry dated 18th Aug'06). Plans for the hosting of this tournament are well underway but more volunteers to help out on the day of the tournament are required. This tournament is attracting over 1,000 players and along with supporters this will take the figure nearer to 3,000 people attending Derby RFC on the 24th Sept'06 - this is a massive showcase for the Club and as such if you can spare some time to assist on the day then it would be greatly appreciated. For more details please contact Graham Darby via email at graham.darby@derbyrfc.co.uk

Lexus BBQ - as a lead in to the Lexus tournament there will on the 15th Sept from 6:30pm to 8pm be a BBQ at the Club as an opening welcome / introduction to the tournament by Lexus. This BBQ is open to everyone within the Club (Minis & Juniors, Seniors, volunteers etc), anyone wishing to attend please make your Team Manager aware as tickets will be handed out so that we have an idea of numbers attending.

18th Aug'06 - Lexus Junior Rugby Festival Launches - Five regional tournaments – involving nearly 5,000 players from 48 different clubs across the UK – will take place at the start of the 2006/07 rugby season. Those from this region (Midlands / North West) will play on 24th September 2006 here at Derby RFC, with each team hoping to lift the trophy as regional winner and to then go on to play in the national Lexus Junior Rugby Festival final in April 2007, the perfect end to the rugby season.

The Festival kicks off with launch parties over the coming weeks at Lexus Centres and Rugby clubs across the region, where the teams will be presented with new kit for the squad, courtesy of Lexus. Twelve clubs from the Midlands and the North West, each sponsored by their nearest Lexus Centres, are each entering U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17s teams in the tournament being held at Derby RFC.

“We are very proud to support local rugby players and we are absolutely delighted that so many young people are taking the opportunity to play in the tournament, we wish all the teams taking part the best of luck” commented Steve Batchelor, the Centre Manager at Lexus Nottingham.

At the Midlands / North West regional tournament we're expecting over 1,000 players with another 2,000 people watching. Clubs attending this regional tournament are - Altrincham RFC, Broadstreet RFC, Caldy RFC, Derby RFC, Droitwich RFC, Oadby Wyggestonian RFC, Olney RFC, Newcastle Staff RFC, Sutton Coldfield RFC, Waterloo RFC, Wheatley RFC and Wolverhampton RFC.

Dear Fellow Gorm, good to hear from you.
I know that individual teams will have had info, but if you were just interested in rugby you may want to come and watch, so how about a timetable? a list of food stalls, bars, car parking etc.

Agreed leave it with me and I'll see if I can collate this onto a dedicated webpage

We must get the Gorms together for a drink,

Question - if one or more Gorm is missing does that mean we're Gormless

Sadam - go to the Club News page and in the navigation buttons in the left hand margin click on Lexus Tournament. Have a look and see what I've put together.

Let me know if you can think of any other pertinent questions !

Indeed, if anyone else has a look at the lexus tournament page(s) let me know if you think there's more that could be included - Thanks

Once the creative juices get flowing there's just no stopping me - Never mind just looking in the left hand navigation menu on the Club news page as I've now put a BIG link on the home page as well as the Club News page and the Minis & Juniors news page.

Will anyone not be able to see it (I can think of one or two bright spark answers )

I'm awaiting answers to some of the questions that I've listed in the FAQ page, these should be updated tomorrow evening.
