Yesterday the Under 15s had their first ever game. We joined forces with Paviours to take on Sleaford. The game was excellent, with every player putting in a huge performance, especially bearing in mind that there were only about 4 or 5 players on the Derby/Paviours side who had ever played a game before, and Sleaford have at least a full season under their belts already. Sleaford ran a fair few tries in, but we never let our heads drop, kept the commitment up until the final whistle and were rewarded with an excellent try late in the second half.
Everyone who played deserves true respect, and special mention goes to Alice, who managed to put in an excellent performance, dislocate her finger, get to hospital, have it reset and return in time to receive her accolades from the Sleaford Coaches - quite an eventful day!
Thanks to all the Parents and Club Members who hung back to support, to Dougie for being an excellent ref (as usual) and to Paviours and Sleaford for making the game possible.
*Note: No pictures/match report for this, consent forms get messy when there are multiple Clubs involved!
