Newark 19 Derby 22
Derby trailed for the majority of the game and more importantly 19-5 with only ten minutes to go, a solitary try from Callum Hall being their only score. Then they turned on the afterburners and tries from Ben Greensmith and Kieron TBC took the score to 19-15 with two minutes to go. Callum Hall then ran in another try with Greensmith adding the conversion to make it 22-20 to Derby. With Matt Chambers stricken on the pitch for ten minutes awaiting an ankle bandage and only 45 seconds on the clock, the tension mounted. But once play re-started Derby wrapped the ball up and held out. Not a bad return for only playing for 10 minutes. Kate Adie
