I thought it'd just be appropriate to say thank you to all the U17 lads who helped stave off a potential massacre due to the great numbers of 'unavailable' players (not that the buggers go on the forum anyway).

In addition, I thought the match report was slightly more amiable than others with, I dare say it, a touch of humour by oldcorn? However this was let down by a blatant lack of my name in print! Therefore I rate it as passable, as it could do with more forward (generally great player) appreciation!

I remember my early match reports waxing lyrical on things Dickie. 4 years of writing them 'for fun' leads to more abbreviated versions these days I'm afraid! Anyway I'm sure my report praised the big boys more than the girly backs, it's just that the scorers were in the backs.

Keep writing though Dickie, others might find the ehergy to join in. Jake's a wise and intelligent chap. When he's back from his travels I'm sure he'll hit the forum with many a witty anecdote!!

What's with this "4 years of writing them" cr#p!!!! I flew solo from u8s to u14s (7 years) then shared the burden up until the end of last season, a further 3 years of graft until I felt my apprentice was able to go it alone and now he's whingeing, unbelievable!!!! I've even gone to the trouble of finding him an apprentice all of his own. Thank you Dickie!! And now he's looking for more. Soon they'll be doing journalism at Derby University and the Professor will be an Unicorn!!!!
