This is from Toasters web site after their visit to the serengeti in October:

Derby RFC 2nd XV 68Pts vs Towcestrians RFC 2nd XV 0Pts
Tows 2nds found themselves down to 13 men at the end of this game, where they were completely out-gunned by a strong Derby side which maintained their unbeaten record with an excellent performance of open rugby

Hope they can raise a team for the return (unlike the Stafford tarts).

Mud, mud, glourious mud,
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood.
(opening lines of Toaster's team song.)

The Beests set off down the motorway to Toaster having made sure that THEIR BEER (sponsored by Coors) was on the coach.
The team had been rejigged a bit due to absences and illness and this was evident in their hesitant start, on a pitch that had obviously had quite a bit of use this season.
However after spending time adjusting to the conditions S-bend galloped over to open the scoring, Rolfs just missing with the nudge.(Probably thinking about THE BEESTS BEER that was keeping cool in THE BEESTS BEER CHEST in the changeing rooms)
Toaster however fought back and made it 5 - 5 before Creswell Coaches scorched over for the Beeests second, which was well converted by Rolfs.
Normski added a third to make it 17 - 5.
The first half ended with the third ref of the day on the field (the original ref pulled a hamstring, Archbeest Gabriel then took over till Paul Teager changed and took over for the rest of the game).
Having regrouped at the watering hole to discuss THE CONTENTS OF THE BEESTS BEER CHEST, the second half got under way and the Beests soon added another try with Headlights leaving the opposition stranded in his wake as he went over under the posts. Rolfs banged over the convertion: 24 - 5.
The Beests then had some serious defending to do, but stuck to their task well, with one noticeable clearence kick under presure from Phylis. having cleared our lines and again gone into the ascendent Phylis scored between the sticks for Rolfs to bang another one over: 31 - 3
The ref then blew for the end of the game a couple of minutes early because the farmer was getting impatient to get on and plant his turnips.
The early finish enabled the Beests to languish in the changing room sipping a beer or two whilst defending THE BEESTY BEER CHEST from desperately thirsty desperadoes in black and amber from down the corridor, who inexplicably didn't seem to have any ale!

Not a great display by the Beests, but we stuck to it well in conditions that did not suit our style of Champagne rugby, and to be fair Toaster were a better side than the one that we met in the first half of the season.

(Squad: Wigley, Lucas, Rolfs, Collier, Spencer, P. Maddocks, Robinson, Erwin, Wilcox, Cormack, Mills, West, Cox, Bussell, Else, Long. Archer)

Congrats to 1's & 2's to sticking to the task & winning well in what can only be described as "Somme-like" conditions! At least the Somme was flat.
Has to be the worst surfaces of the season so far.

Not sure that I scored, but am happy to claim it, before somebody accuses me of kleptomania

don't give it to norm. That means he's getting closer on the points tally. Plus he's running scared because the No.8 Buss is right on his tail
