There is a need for better and more directions to the clubs the all the teams are playing.
I would there like to suggest that google maps api is used to show the directions to the major clubs that most teams play.
For less visited/distant clubs, I would suggest that the current approach would suffice but with some help from the club to find the post codes so that team members can search for themselves if needed.
I know the approach is possible and would make the site more helpful to the players.

Sounds like more work !!!
I thought that the current directions are pretty good, I know I use them and others too. Admittedly it's not an exhaustive list of every Club.
If there are Clubs that sides are playing then players are more than welcome to email me the directions and the website address of the Club and I'll include it into Directions page.
Talk to me when I'm at the Clun Finbar and we'll discuss. |

Hi Brian, I think the fixtures are pretty good, for first team fixtures, but maybe not for some of the smaller clubs where the lower sides play. I agree with your suggestion about mailing directions / website addresses to you, and then you can include them on the directions page, after all, a lot of people from the lower sides spend a lot of time on the forum, and so it wouldn't be too difficult to search for their own opposition.
Heres one for starters http://www.hmprisonservice.gov.uk/prisoninformation/locateaprison/prison.asp?id=1043,15,2,15,1043,0

Have a quick look at this example and see what you think. I believe you might be surprised at how good it can be:

I think that the Website should have sections on how to dress yourself, how to feed yourself etc. as these are prity hard to work out for yourself.
Hands Up! |

Lads, its just an idea. I was trying to help those less web savvy. Also trying to find an opportunity to learn some new tricks for myself. However, the banter is also good!!

| How about next years tour being California? No one would get lost, and we could "have a gay old time". (Which would be different for most tourists, and TF and the Mongoose Slayer would fit in quite well) |

I think the directions are good, however like most things they could be improved. The addition of addresses & postcodes would help those of us who know how to use SatNav get there ;) Phone numbers might be helpful - a scrap of paper with the number of your destination is a boon at 9:55 Sunday morning when you can't quite work out how to get that last 1/2 mile traversed accurately ... |

I've recently started adding Fixture Directions for any Away side that a Derby RFC Senior side is playing for that week (assuming that the Club has directions on a website)- eg for example see recent updates for Dudley Kingswinsford, Lichfield, Aylestone Athletic etc so that the page itself is now useful to 1st XV, 2nd XV, 4th XV, Vets XV and Colts XV players and supporters
From now on I will also start to include the address and telephone number of the club, again assuming that a club display this info on their website. |

These people who need spoon feeding information should be upgraded to the next level. I assume they can find their own way to the pub, friends houses etc, even if they have never been there before. Once upgraded they can use their superior intelligence to click on a link to the opponents website and find the info for themselves.. Maybe eventually after further upgrades they could google search their opponents website themselves and find the info out

Webmaster perhaps we could have directions to Haslams, as I am not sure how to find it. Also have trouble in finding my front door some days, so any chance of a map of my house so that I can find my way around a bit easier. If it isn't too much trouble.....anyone know how to open a tube of toothpaste??
It wasn't me |
