Here's a copy of what's been written in the Club News page on the 2nd Oct'05 about the Club Night proposal ....

What's happened to the post match atmosphere at Haslams ? - where's the fun & games gone ??? Much discussion took place at the Club about this last night over a pint or two (hic) and a few bowls of custard which resulted in the 'Club Night' proposal being suggested, the idea being that once a month a Senior side will take responsibility for organising a post match event after their home match !!!

For October, first up it's the Wildebeests (Muuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh !!!), they shall take charge of next Saturday's post match entertainment !!! - yes some of our other Senior sides are playing away next Saturday but hey hopefully people can get back to the Club. The dress code is head gear. Any head gear will do, that's down to individuals to decide !!! - though no doubt if the 'beests think that what your wearing is not apt then no doubt there will be a forfeit of some sort !!!

Then in November it's down for the 1st XV to organise, a date has already been booked, the 12th Nov. Roger Milligan has come up with the idea of an I'm a Lady Night !!! - more details to follow in the near future !!!

Future dates will be discussed with the Dev XV, 4th XV, Vets XV and the Colts XV.

--------------------------------------

What do the forum members think about trying to get these Club Nights off the ground ?

Great Idea. If all captains, managers, people of influence etc let as many people as possible know about this the better.
The general idea is that after the BEESTS HAVE STAMPEDED THE OPPOSITION ALL THE WAY ACROSS EUROPE BACK TO POLAND, and the other teams have returned Victorious to Haslams, we all get plastered in the club for a while before wandering the wide plains of Derby.......
(It was somewhat embarrasing last night sitting in the club at 7.30 with 6 people from Derby and 30 Toasted Towcestrians)

A Discount Card proposal has been submitted for discussion at the next Derby RFC Management committee monthly meeting. So we'll wait to see what the outcome is from that.

Yes, I'm sure the Colts will get their opportunity to 'disorganise' some post match entertainment

I did notice that at 7 o'clock on saturday evening only one of the first team was still there, but all the towcester team was still drinking although to the best of my knowledge they do not receive any discount. It was left to the wildebeests (who appear to have what the first team lack namely TEAM SPIRIT) and a few slappy heads to thank Towcester for the game. May I invite a response from the first team Manager Coaches or Captain. no hello this time I am to disgusted

Dear Sid

I bet I know who the only first team member you are talking about was. I needed a spatula to pry him off his seat. (and if it wasn't for the fact that I only had £2.49 left to hand over he would have had another pint!)

I am also assuming I wasn't one of slap heads. (mind you I've been insulted more by Brian)

Listen Derby players its not up to us wives to maintain the takings at Haslams just because you've got better things to do on a Saturday night. Sort yourselves out! (even the kids stay longer)

The Wildebeests strike again: As part of our hastily organised Club Night, Mighty Mick the Mongoose Slayer has arranged with Jumping John, Haslam's Head Honcho, that from 7.00 - 9.00 pm on Saturday 8th October 2005 there will be an offer on beer, lager and cider of four pints for the price of three!!!!!! So stop wingeing about prices and get your ****s down to the Hot Hairy Hornets nest that is Haslams.

Ok Brian, lots of words here, give me a clue to which ones are part of the lyric.

This thread is Jam packed with references and I don't want to Clash with you or create Undertones that might create Deep Purple bruising, as that would go down like a Led Zeppelin. It would be Sweet if we didn't have Altered Images of each other but could retain the Status Quo and be Level (42) with no Kinks. Who knows "how long" this could go on for but I'm Cream crackered so it will have to end before you think I'm INXS.

Never mind the bo##ocks, What are the lyrics

Refereeeeee
