As the Jackal has now joined the elite Splinter Bum Club, You will have to put up with a less colourful match report this week.

On a dark and wet afternoon the Beeeests were allowed on to the hallowed turf of the 1st XV pitch where they romped home by 9 tries to nil (probably more than were scored on it for all of last season).
Louis was the first to score, outpacing his opposite number, Hutch duely converted. Not to be outdone, Brummie then got one on the other wing which was again coverted by Johny Wilkinson. Some old guy and Norm then ran in a couple, one of which was converted.
After Halftime Super-Sub Mooro decided that it was about time that the forwards got in on the act, and scored under the posts: Carlos Spencer converted again. Batesy in his first match back after surgery to remove splinters from his posterior, then joined the score card, gathering inside his own in-goal area, sidestepping the advancing Polish army and sprinting in from 102 yards.
Rob Lane then decided that it was about time the backs did a bit of work and ran in a try converted by Naas Botha. Wiggers, digging deep, found some blistering pace hidden in his old carcass, and ran in another which was converted by Dave Budden. Mooro bagged another just before the end.
Taking the conditions into account, it was quite a good performance: Harry contributing to the forward thrust, though he did look a bit worried when he thought Waclawz Mizcavzzlowski (the Poles replacement full-back) might get to the food before him. Chubby and Prof. Rankin supplied shove in the engine room and Messrs West and Bussell played well around the base of the scrum. Pete was his usual busy self and Matt Minor held up his half of the scrum. Rob Lucas ensured that the backs received a decent supply of ball..
